It all began in 1997 with Joëlle Dujardin, a woman deeply driven by a simple value: caring for others.
At the time, Joëlle was assisting elderly people at home. She helped them in their daily lives, kept them company, and watched over them with a kindness that deeply touched families.
Very quickly, requests multiplied. Faced with this growing need, Joëlle began calling on nursing friends who shared the same values as her. What started as a spontaneous initiative gradually became a real home care organization.
Giving structure to a vocation
A few years later, her son Benjamin Dujardin joined the family adventure. He understood that caring for elderly people losing their autonomy requires not only heart, but also solid organization.
Benjamin then set out to structure and professionalize the company: planning interventions, managing teams, billing, management tools, and business development. His objective remained clear: preserve the human spirit that gave birth to Alter Ego while guaranteeing reliable and professional service.
A meeting of skills
In 2019, Emanuel joined the adventure. After 15 years as a hotel director, he felt the need to move towards a more human and meaningful activity. The hotel industry taught him service excellence, attention to detail, and team management—skills that naturally found their place in caring for the elderly.
The meeting between Benjamin's field experience, Emanuel's service culture, and the human heritage transmitted by Joëlle gave new impetus to Alter Ego's development.
